PLANT
System / Functional Description
The present plant is a preparing and metering station
for a 0.5 % flocculant solution.
The plant mainly consists of a three-chamber tank (preparing,
ripening and supply chamber) with solvent water station,
metering pump, connecting pipe lines, rediluting station
and electric switch cabinet. It is suitable for treating
dry material.
The corresponding polymere is added manually into the
preparing chamber with the help of a dry feeder (pos.
2.0) and a feeding hopper (pos. 2.2). By adding water,
the concentration of the parent solution is set to 0.5
%. Depending on the required application concentration,
the addable water quantity of the rediluting station
can be changed. Normally the concentration of the working
solution is 0.1 %.
The product added to the preparing station is dissolved
by an electric agitator (pos. 6.0). The prepared solution
reaches the ripening chamber through an overflow immersion
pipe. This chamber is also fitted with an electric agitator.
From the ripening chamber, the solution is forwarded
through another overflow immersion pipe into the supply
chamber.
The preparing process starts when switching point LSL
in the supply chamber (pos. 7.1) is reached and ends
when switching point LSH in the supply chamber (pos.
7.0) is exceeded.
The working solution is taken from the tank via a supply
line. When exceeding switching point LSLL in the supply
chamber (pos. 7.1), the topped eccentric screw pump
is ready for operation. This pump is protected against
dry operation via switching point LSLL in the supply
chamber, i.e.: the pump is stopped when falling below
LSLL.
